The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) has paid condolence visits to families of crew and passengers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, which crashed at Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State on Oct. 5.
This is contained in a statement by NAFOWA on Saturday in Abuja.
The association said the visits were carried out across the country through its chapters to convey sympathy and solidarity to families who lost loved ones.
On behalf of the National President, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, members conveyed the association’s message of sympathy.
“This is a profoundly painful moment for the entire Nigerian Air Force family, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the wider Nigerian nation and people everywhere who recognise the value of every human life.
“We share in your grief and want you to know that you are not alone. NAFOWA will stand by you at this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the bereaved families, colleagues, friends and all those directly affected by the crash,” Aneke said.
She said the visits form part of NAFOWA’s wider welfare and humanitarian support for military families.
Aneke reaffirmed that the association’s support would extend beyond the immediate period of mourning to include continued attention to welfare needs of spouses and children left behind.
She said the condolence visits complement ongoing efforts by the NAF leadership to support families affected by the tragedy.
Aneke prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims and underscored the importance of sustained institutional care for those coping with the loss.(NAN)
