Tinubu Prays for Peace, Unity, Security During Umrah in Makkah
President Bola Tinubu has prayed for Nigeria’s peace, national unity and protection against insecurity during the performance of Umrah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Onanuga said Tinubu performed the spiritual exercise at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, where he circumambulated the Holy Ka’abah in worship, devotion and thanksgiving to Allah.
He said the President also prayed for harmony and stability in Nigeria, seeking divine guidance for the country’s leaders and stronger bonds of brotherhood among citizens.
Tinubu further sought Allah’s intervention in addressing insecurity and other challenges confronting the country.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, the President described the Umrah as significant to his commitment to Nigeria and the welfare of its citizens.
“I believe this Umrah is very significant for the love of our people, commitment to the job and our country, Nigeria; commitment to the will of Allah that His words must prevail,” he said.
Tinubu expressed gratitude to Allah for the opportunity to perform the pilgrimage, adding that prayers were offered for Nigerians to live in peace, harmony and happiness.
“We have just prayed for our nation, for everyone to live in peace and harmony, happiness and faith in God Almighty,” he said.
