Floods kill 29, injure 129 across Afghanistan — WHO

World Health Organisation (WHO) in Afghanistan has announced that 29 people have been killed, 129 injured and four remain missing after recent flash floods swept parts of eastern, southeastern and central Afghanistan.

According to the report, the provinces of Nuristan, Nangarhar, Laghman, Paktika, Paktia, Khost, Ghazni, Kabul, Kapisa, Panjshir, Parwan, Logar and Maidan Wardak were affected, with the floods causing casualties and widespread property damage.

WHO said at least 300 families were affected in Nuristan and Laghman alone.

The organisation added that, in coordination with its health partners, it had deployed three mobile health teams to the affected areas to provide medical services to flood victims
