Afrobeats superstar Davido has released his sixth studio album, ORIADE, marking the 15th anniversary of his professional music career.
The 13-track album became available on major streaming platforms on Friday and follows his previous studio projects Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis, A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless and 5ive.
Explaining the inspiration behind the title, Davido said ORIADE is derived from the Yoruba words Ori (head or destiny) and Ade (crown), symbolising purpose, fulfilment and destiny.
He described the project as a reflection of his musical journey, gratitude and cultural heritage, adding that it represents a renewed embrace of African and Yoruba-inspired sounds.
The album rollout began in June with the release of the lead single, I Know Who I Be, featuring South African producers JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay. It was followed by Gimme Dat Ting, a collaboration with NO11.
ORIADE also features guest appearances from Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif, Nigerian artistes Mayorkun, Fola and Llona, American singer Leon Thomas, and French-Malian star Aya Nakamura.
The project explores themes of identity, family, self-belief and Nigerian excellence, reinforcing Davido’s commitment to showcasing African music on the global stage.
The latest release adds to the achievements of the award-winning singer, who rose to fame with the hit single Dami Duro and has since become one of Africa’s leading global music icons.
